Energy options

March
2

The Scarsdale Woman’s Club plans to hold a meeting Wednesday afternoon on alternative energy that is open to the public.

Speakers will include James Van Nostrand, executive director of Pace Law School’s Energy and Climate Center, who has considerable experience in developments between the government and the private/public sector on this issue. He will be joined by Dana Hall, an energy policy coordinator at the center.

The meeting will take place 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Scarsdale Woman’s Club house 37 Drake Road.

Van Nostrand and Hall will speak about alternatives to our growing dependence on traditional fuels and how a vision for a sustainable energy future meets our long-term economic goals and is more environmentally friendly.  Van Nostrand  will describe our national energy policy, New York State’s energy planning efforts, and the energy portions of the economic stimulus package, especially those programs which are supported and how employment opportunities will stimulate the economy.  Hall will discuss programs currently offered by the New York State Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and various utilities for energy conservation and alternative solar and wind power.

For further information, please telephone 472-5102.
