Westchester County has lifted a ban on open fires in county parks that has been in place since April 22. Parks Commissioner Joseph Stout said the recent rainfall eliminated the dry park conditions, but the department will continue to monitor conditions daily. During the ban, charcoal and propane fires were only permitted for cooking in permanently fixed grills in the parks. For more information, call Westchester County Parks at (914) 864-7000.
